Thomas A. Briant is the executive director of the National Association of Tobacco Outlets.
Since 1989, Briant has concentrated his efforts on retail, wholesale and manufacturer tobacco-related issues on the U.S. local, state and federal levels.
He has represented the Minnesota Wholesale Marketers Association since 1989 on state and federal tobacco-related issues.
Since the creation of the National Association of Tobacco Outlets (NATO) in 2001, Briant has served as NATO’s executive director and legal counsel. NATO focuses exclusively on local, state and federal tobacco legislation and U.S. Federal Drug Administration regulations.
Briant received his Bachelor of Science degree in political science from the College of St. Thomas in 1981 and his Juris Doctor degree from William Mitchell College of Law in 1984.
