Shawn Long

Shawn Long is the head of the Yunnan Research Institute and Tobacco Flavor Research and Development Center at Zinwi Biotech. In this capacity, Long leads the Yunnan Research Institute to focus on the in-depth research of product quality, raw materials research and development and harm reduction to explore the future of the tobacco industry. Long is committed to providing smokers with alternative evolving tobacco products under the different regulatory frameworks.

Earlier in his career, Long engaged in postdoctoral studies in the Shanghai Tobacco Group Research and Development Center, researching the aroma ingredients of tobacco leaves. Later, he devoted himself to evolving next-generation products, including e-cigarette and heated-tobacco products. Long is among the first industry experts to work in this field. He earned a doctoral degree in polymer chemistry and physics from Fudan University.
