Environment, health and safety vice-president at Japan Tobacco International
Jim Howard is the vice president for environment, health and safety for Japan Tobacco International, a role he has held for five years. He has worked in the tobacco industry for 22 years, starting in manufacturing roles with Rothmans prior to that company’s merger with British American Tobacco.
Howard has held roles in engineering, production, quality, and health and safety. A native of the United Kingdom, he holds a master’s degree in fuel and energy engineering.
Prior to joining the tobacco industry, Howard worked for the U.K. coal industry in research and development and for a small engineering company that specialized in industrial material handling equipment.
